It took us a while to realize that even thought it is beautiful here and there is significant signs of westernization, that only a few short years ago this was a communist country. It was truly behind a curtain.
Now, the remnants of the KGB and their harsh ways still hide within each of the citizens of this country. Concerned to talk with anyone, they are closes, unemotional. Who can blame them. Read some of the history and the struggle they went through over the past 25 years and it will surely is easy to understand their fears.
Even so. nothing can take away the beauty of their architecture and their will to survive.
