Walk through a pretty depressed area. No fear. This is just the way people live around here. Walk through town towards water. Gotta get our bearings. A little Mexican lady tells us to go thataway, so we walk. Michael has a feeling we're going the wrong way, but I insist that this is the way the lady told us so we keep going. Pass by some little fisherman working on their boats.
Up ahead we spot some school children so we decide to ask them if we're headed in the right direction. We whip out our handy map and ask, "Donde aqui?" they speak very little English, but are able to tell us that we are going in the opposite direction from where we want to go. We all chuckle and we just turn around and go back the other way.
Man we walked far. It had to have been about 10 miles. No joke! Along the way we pass two young ladies, Jehovah's Witnesses. They're living in Mexico as missionaries with their families. They hand us a tract and go on their way. Finally we reach the hotel district. Walk through some shopping areas. My feet and legs are tired and I feel myself getting grumpy so I mention to Michael that I'm ready to stop now. I guess he doesn't take me too seriously because he just keeps on walking. He's in discovery mode. I'm just plain old tired.
