Well, it's that time again when I have to start thinking about doing something special for Anita's birthday. I knew once we started doing the kind of travel we've both become accustomed to over the years, the more we would need time to plan for newer and more exciting trips in the future. Yes, the pressure is on and I just love coming up with that next great surprise.
As usual, Anita has tried her best to get me to tell her what we are going to do this time. I can't get her to understand that sometimes I don'know until the very last minute. The challenge for me is being able to pick that special place for her birthday.
Last year it was Montego Bay, Jamaica.  The year before that, Steamboat Springs, Colorado for skiing after just having arrived back from  Egypt, our three week trip of a life time.  Anita always says she doesn't have to be surprised, but I just think it's her way of making me think about what we are going to do and tell her so she can plan accordingly. It's even funny how she even throws out a few suggestions of places to go and things to do. My focus is always on finding our next international travel destination for the best time ever.
This year is going to be a little different. We decided to spend both Thanksgiving and Christmas in Atlanta, and I am starting to feel a trip is needed soon since we have not taken a major one since my birthday in April when we went to Montreal. Several options are high on the list this time, and I have a pretty good idea how to make it even better if I can pull this one off without Anita finding out before the surprise is revealed.  Stay tuned to find out more.
