Yep, the cows get cold up in the mountains as fall gets closer, so at the end of september, they have to leave their green mountin pastures and settle at lower altitudes. This wouldn't go without a party of course. And because we love our cows so much, we decorate them with flower and huge bells. Every little mountain village has it's own little festival, but we decided to go to Grimentz, a really cute little town in the Val d'Anniviers.

Seth was really happy to see that West Virginia is not the only place where people tend to be inbred... our mountains are a good example of that too. everybody has the same name and face (or almost, ok I exagerate a bit).

As you can see on one picture, Seth was little worried about his privates. And for a good reason: these cows are fighters! The females fight to determine who will lead the herd. It's pretty impressive when you see them push their heads against each other and see which one will run away first.

Afterwards we went to the Moiry Dam. Beautiful landscape with a huge dam. The lake is fed by a glacier.
