9 days in South Padre Island and 8 days of kiting. I heard some folks from Seattle are planning on coming down to SPI in November and December. Who's coming? If we're still here, it would be great to hook up for some downwinders as well as flat water sessions. It's super easy to do downwinders and lots of fun for many miles. The waves are nice and the wind is good ... but watch out for those sharks and stingrays in the water (I haven't seen any so far :~)) Take a look at the picture of the Flag advisory system. Blue means "Presence of venomous marine life". Hmmm... well... I'll always say my prayer when I go out so hopefully nothing will ever happen.
Anyways, today it was nuclear again. Take a look at the Iwindsurf graph for 10/27/06 South Padre Island. I also posted it in the album. I think I got some of the biggest air ever. Tanguy where were you??? The kiting is good, the wind is strong, the waves are nice, and the lagoon so smooth. There are usually never more than 10 kites out at each spot and there's a ton of space. If you come down here, remember though to bring your shorty as well as your full wetsuit just in case. Southerlies are warm, but when the Northerlies kick in, it can get pretty cold. Mariela and I are still trying to figure out what's our next destination. I am currently trying to work with the friendly folks of www.Ozontravel.com (Hi Karen!) to figure out what a good next kite destination could be. We're totally flexible of course so if anybody hears of a good airfare deal to Brazil or Australia or anywhere else, just let us know, so we can continue to Follow The Wind!
