Hello Everyone,
I am in Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu (on the southeastern tip of India), having traveled here for Jerry Jones to inspect an orphanage that he supports. I am thrilled to have made the trip, as it also allows me to soak up the energy and consciousness of Ramana Maharshi, a renowned and very great saint if India who lived in the 19th-20th century.
I cannot convey the depth of the peace that permeates Ramana's ashram and temple grounds or how it takes you, so naturally, to the deep peace of your own stilled being. Such peace!
I am sooo happy to be here. I cannot thank Jerry enough. And for those of you who know what a nature lover I am, there is an amazing Mother Goddess Tree that stands just in front of the steps leading to the temple. I sat there today and meditated while the temple itself was closed for lunch. What a bit of heaven, despite the occasional insect bite. I cannot imagine that Ramana did not meditate there, but even if he didn't I certainly felt his presence.
I forgot to pack my gadget for downloading photos, so I will have to load them to the blog after I return to Kolkata on Friday.
