Where I stayed
Home Sweet Home
Across the lake from the town you should be able to see the volcano on a clear day, however, as is the problem with the southern lake district, it rained for the two days we were there, so we were unable to see this. The rain also meant we did not do much exploring of the surrounding area, which is supposed to be spectacular. Instead we spent a lot of our time at our hostel with the kind owner, who was very welcoming and like the name of the hostel suggests (hone sweet home), it felt like he had invited us into his home. He only runs a hostel during the high season and for the rest of the year he runs a school for children. On the first night several of his friends were there so we sat up for hours talking
We liked the place a lot but due to the poor weather we decided to head north to get some sunshine.
