Left the hotel at 8.20 this morning. Bumped into two guys in the
street. Goodbye Peter Dickinson they said. So where did they get my name
from? I used it to register in the hotel, to book my bus ticket and to go
on the tours but don't recollect seeing either of these guys in
connection with any of those. Another of these strange instances.
At around five hours today's journey to Bursa was probably the longest
I have ever sat on a bus. The countryside was very English. A sort of
Cornwall/Lincolnshire mix. I amused myself by trying to spot which
shepherds had Kangal dogs. Counting dogs made me drop off to sleep. A
decibel bruising strangulated roar woke me with a fright. It was me snoring.
The other passengers did not appear to have noticed anything.
Impossible. They were just being polite.
Bursa is another big bustling city. Snow on the mountains behind and it
is raining.
Latest puzzle in the series of coincidences is my room number in Bursa
... 304 for the third time in a month! What makes it even odder is that
I don't believe, in fact I know, that none of these places had 300
rooms let alone 304.
