Today began with breakfast on Mascoma Lake consisting of grilled cheese, sweet potato soup and apple pie, very American. We pedaled out through a light rain in the New Hampshire forests; hilly but beautiful.

We had chosen Concord NH as a stopping place, but I chose to continue on to make the push to Boston easier tomorrow while the Quebecers got a motel in Concord. We will meet up in Boston, however, to recap and enjoy the city.

Today was basically my last day of country riding. Typing those words made my heart skip a little, realizing how quickly the trip is coming to a close. From here it is entirely suburban and urban riding to NY, to which I am looking forward, but I am also sad to end sketchy riverside camping, conversations with simple country folk, expensive general stores, and great presentations of our country's beauty. Too soon to get sentimental, however, many more miles ahead!

Tonight is certainly a sketchy camping night; I find myself on a baseball field, likely the most time I've ever spent on one. But the grass in soft and flat so I'm not complaining. I'm also back on the grid with a working phone, but I am finding the translation difficult, often turning it to airplane mode to make myself unavailable. I'm sure I'll be hooked again shortly.

Enfield NH > Hooksett NH, 61 miles, day 62
