How do you talk about the beginning of something when the ending is complete gray matter? The abyss, a frontier. Well, at least the east coast. I should say something epic; people bring up the word spiritual a lot, but that's not how I see this trip. Perhaps a challenge then, but no, only good times are to be had. Even the bad times are good, sometimes the best times. Let me just say that I am open to any and all roadblocks, roadkill, roadside diners, drive in diners, drive by truckers, truckers that have been driving far too long, long stretches with no services, stretching after every ride, riding with no pants, riding with no underpants, underpants, underpasses, passing cars, carpools, swimming pools, swimming holes, black holes and black magic... that may come my way. Outside of that though.. I'm picky.

Today began in Tacoma and finished I'm Arlington. The ride, uneventful, Fred Meyers and Starbucks through the suburban sprawl. The finish came unexpectedly, mind you when a fellow cyclist pulled up beside me, and when asked about any local campgrounds offered his yard for the night. He proceeded to offer a hot shower, a hot meal, a trailer to sleep in, good conversation with him and his family, and to top it all off another couple in 200 miles that may be able to provide the same. Rob and Denise, I am writing this comfortably in your trailer incredibly grateful for your generosity. I cannot thank you enough for starting my trip out properly, and I wish you and your family the absolute best.

Tomorrow's another day. OUT!!
