This was always going to be a trip highlight, the last big ticket item .. And we did it twice once in Brazil and then crossed over to Argentina and did it again.

It is really hot but although the campsite is crowded, 5 over landing trucks, there are great showers and as always cold beer.

The Iguacu Falls are a national treasure and heavily protected but the organisation is good with frequent transport to deliver you to the stunning viewpoints. The first stop is down river and the path leads you ever closer to the Devils Throat. The pictures do not really do it justice it is a jaw dropping sight...sorry North America it is better than Niagara!

From the Brazil side you get a great view of the canyon and views of the individual falls tumbling over the cliff in Argentina. In the wet season there are 275 falls here covers 2.5 Kim's and a height of 74m. There are walkways built out over the river so you can get up close to the water, very cooling at midday.

After the falls it is a visit to the excellent bird park, with free flying Toucans and Scarlet Ibis showing off. I spend time with the butterflies, impossible to photograph, and the hummingbirds just beautiful. They even sat still for the camera. The Macaw house was a walk through so you had to watch you head as the birds flew from end to end in the aviary. It was a great photo op, I have more pictures than anyone needs.

Day 2 at the falls took us back to Argentina, again 7th entry. A lot more to do on this side and a bigger area with long walks along the cliffs, a train to deliver you to the Devil's Throat. Another very hot day and most people got a touch of sunburn. Many of the truck team took the boat in the falls option and got extremely wet, I didn't but got the pictures instead.

While walking the trials we saw, cayman, turtles huge black catfish and were hunted by the Coati in family packs.
