Malaysia is country 21 , 22 for those who transited Pakistan, no hassle at the border just a delay getting the truck insurance sorted. The road is dual carriageway all the way lined by rubber plantations and acres of palms for palm oil. Hot and humid we have a heavy afternoon rainstorm that fails to clear the air. Entering KL at night you cannot fail to be impressed by the city sky line the Petronas Towers stand tall and sparkle.

The hostel is in the centre of town tucked away behind a large shopping mall ( oh no). Easy access to the bus routes and the monorail with loads of bars and restaurants to hand we not going go have any problems getting around.

First item on the agenda is a visit to the post office - we are becoming expert in parcels - here it was easy just like at home and not as expensive as Thailand. That out of the way next thing is lunch, the mall has a food court that rivals the night market except there is air-conditioning! Too much choice I settled on BBQ chicken, noodles, clear soup.

The mall is a huge marketplace over with mostly junk, just a few international brands on the ground floor. Seven floors of shops and not a thing to buy, some interesting shops though - Giraffe sells shoes with lifts in them apparently they will give up 10cms of height! Then there is the transvestites beauty parlour some very glamourous pictures showing the work.

The night was taken up with our drivers farewell party - he has been great but we leave the truck outside Singapore. We travel through Indonesia on public transport and pick up a new truck in Australia (Tangoroo). We are all hoping that he will be able to join us as a passenger on the last phase of the journey because he is an integral part of the Team Tango.

While on the city tour we took in the Royal Palace and the Bird Park - I suprisingly really enjoyed the birds.

We dropped into the art deco Central Market to get out of the afternoon rain storm then hopped back onto the bus to visit the Petronas Towers - awesome they are even in the rain. Then on to the KL Tower which gave us a great nightscape of the city and an opportunity to take pictures of the tower when they were lit up.
