After I put my bags down I headed out and across the street is a great park called City Centre that has a man made lagoon pool. It was Sunday so everyone was out on the grass sun bathing and hanging out in the water
I walked to the docks at about 8am and signed in for the scuba trip. The boat was small and had about thirty people on it. Everyone on the boat was great and I met other travelers from all over the world. There were people from Brazil, France, Canada and everywhere in between. All of them had great stories. We headed out a few hours to the reef and they gave us a scuba lesson as we got closer. Once I got under the water there is no way I can even attempt to describe the fish I saw. There were thousands of the most amazing colors and patterns I had ever seen. It would be impossible for a computer or a human created color pallet to ever be able to capture these colors. Looking out at the fish was the first time I ever felt like all things are truly possible. Seeing thousands of fish swim in unison with the most indescribable colors was inspiring. I spent a few hours under the water and was able to hold a sea cucumber at one point. The visibility was perfect it was as if weren’t underwater; you could see for over 100 feet.
Underneath the water I found Nemo and actually have a picture with him. However, the reef and Cairns have been so much more than just Nemo. Nemo spelled backwards is omen and mixed together with all the other omens I have received lately; life has lead me to this point. I was fifty feet underwater sitting on the bottom of the ocean floor with my hands dug into the sand looking up at the Great Barrier Reef while the sun was shinning down on it and fish everywhere. I don't know if it gets much better than that. Everyday at some point, something happens which is another omen or sign that I made the right decision to leave everything and take this journey. An omen speaks directly and only to you it is something you don't have to think about to understand its significance no matter how big or small the omen seems. One thing I do know is that since I decided to truly following my passion these omens happen to show up more frequently and with less effort than ever before. I have never had to decode them because there is an unwritten understanding that happens somewhere along the way.
On my way to Bali there was a lay over in Darwin, a city at the northern tip of Australia. While I was waiting a cute little Filipino girl sat down next to me to charge her iPod. She must have been around twelve or thirteen years old. I asked her a few questions about where she was from and what she was doing on vacation
