Soooo glad to be back in Ireland...it really does feel like home (or at least grandma's home)
Walked about a mile through town to our lovely B&B...Faythe Guest House (one of the best places we have ever stayed...highly recommended!)
(my side of the room looked like this...her side always looked like this)
Off to explore Wexford Town (a typical Irish port city)...
After 4 weeks, an Irish Pub and some Guinness at last!
Next morning: 7am bus to Limerick!
Our very last night in Ireland...
Arrive at Bunratty Village, after a 4 hour bus ride to Limerick (back to the storage place to get all of Sarah's shit!), and 2 taxi's -to fit all the stuff- around 1pm.
Bunratty Castle dates back to the 1200's
Lunch at Durty Nelly's,.the village's pub since the 15th century...
(look closely at the glasses...can you see the shamrocks in the foam?)
..and our final evening was spent at Bunratty Castle's Medieval Banquet...the perfect ending!
(we drank ALOT of red wine with the Italian honeymooners across from us)
**These past five weeks have been an amazing experience and I am so glad I got to share it with Sarah. How lucky she is to have had this opportunity at such a young age and to experience so much.
Although I have missed my family and home more than words could ever describe...there are many things I will forever miss about the places & people we encountered along our journey, but in general I will miss...
Belgium street waffles
Wales' fresh air
Spain, well, I literally missed it
French sophistication (and that yogurt!)
Netherlands/Holland - EVERYTHING!
Irish swearing and their Guinness (it really does taste better here!)
Things I will NEVER take for granted again...
-tipping a set amount
-regular time (as opposed to military time)
-shower curtains or doors...or just showers!
-MY OWN CAR!
-a washer & dryer!
-doors that lock without a key
-cold 1% or 2% milk...not that warm cream
-all my clothes...it gets old wearing the same thing for 5 weeks
-'manly' American men...only the Aussies could compare
-my regular cell phone (w/ NO country codes!)
-lastly...the United States of America... I have a deepened appreciation for where we live, what we have, and how lucky we all are!
Early morning, off to Shannon Airport by 6am....Home Sweet Home in 13 hours!
AU REVIOUR! &nbs p; &nbs p; 4 pm (est)!
(those 10+ days in France have taken their toll!)
