Where I stayed
Disney was so so busy, it was smaller than I recall, the castle was tiny but I think that’s because I am so big now. I loved the surroundings and the shops but the queues were huge. Growing up we rarely had to queue because my dad’s disabled badge often got us to the front of any line, thus having been to Disney annually and not queuing this was a whole new experience for me. Everyone was on wheels, either a stroller (that’s a push chair for you English folk) or mobility scooters. One ride had a bigger queue for mobility scooter users…it was very odd
We went on It’s a small world and sang along. After the women in front of us said 'The Internet has truly made us much closer’ to which Mark replied ‘Yes, it is a small world after all’ making me crack up laughing.
Pirates of the Caribbean had been changed to meet the movie a bit more, Indiana Jones was not as good as I remembered and worst of all there was no parade!
As it got later we went to Downtown Disney to look around shops, we ate dinner and listened to live music. It was suddenly freezing so we watched the fireworks from the bus stop. On the long way home a women and a small boy got on board, the buy was tapping an electronic light saber toy until suddenly the women went berserk and started smashing it into little pieces yelling ‘stop hitting stuff you spoilt brat’ which obviously made the boy scream over and over ‘why why did you do it’ the whole way into LA. In the end the women promised to buy her spoilt brat a new toy if he just stopped crying. I thought it was the worst parenting I’d seen in a while.
