I figured I would write a few words the night before I leave to get this blog started. I hope no one has really high expectations, because I am neither funny nor insightful. Just kidding! I'll try to be a little of both, anyways. I can't wait to get started on my "adventure". The trip itself is just the beginning of a completely new experience on the West Coast. I've made plenty of trips before, most a couple of weeks long. Of course there was college, but I was able to come home enough that it doesn't count so much.

No, to me it feels more like I have taken many trips away from home, but haven't really left for good. Until now! [Is this why my parents are freaking out more than usual? Do they know? I keep telling them its only 3 months...probably...] Actually, they are being really good sports. And if you are reading this, mom and dad, I promise I'll call every day and let you know everything I'm doing and who I'm going with, and yes I took my vitamins, etc., etc.

I am basically packed, although I keep having those moments of "Oh-my-God, am I missing something really important??" Luckily for me I have all night tonight to continue freaking myself out. Maybe I'll make another list. "Things that you already packed and need to calm down about".

Here's the plan: a few last errands to run in the morning tomorrow, kickboxing, and final packing (I told Robbie he can only bring a grocery bag of clothes because that's all I have room for in my car! Good thing I'm traveling with a guy and not a chick - it would be physically impossible without a much larger vehicle.) I'm excited to have my little bro along for the drive - its been 10 years since we went cross country as a family and now the two of us get to do it again, a little older and a little wiser. Not to mention that now we can drink and gamble! (*cough* just kidding, mom and dad).

First stop: Johnson City, Tennessee. It should be about a 7 hour drive.

Also, I'm getting my red belt in the morning! I'm gonna miss kickboxing @ BBMAC so much, especially on these 7 and 8 hour driving days. I'm sure that swimming in the hotel pools at the end of the day just wont be the same. Once I get out there, I'll be starting back up @ Muay Thai Academy.

Okay, I really need to attempt to stop thinking and get some rest. Night night!
