The home to the Pisco Sour and the Ballestas Islands.
Today was full on which was to continue right to the end of our tour, we woke up early to drive to Pisco, nothing much here except the Ballestas Islands which are home to over 150 species of bird life, penguins, cormorants, boobies, pelicans and seals everywhere. We could not set foot on the island but this was probably for the best as it smelt really bad!!! so we all took a boat out to the islands and spent a hour going around the island, on the way visiting the candelabra a figure etched into the side of the mountain that they believed is linked to the nazca lines. It reminded us alot of the islands in argentina that we went to visit except for on a larger scale.
At the end of this we headed to huachachina so some of the group could go sand boarding in a oasis town, Tim tried this standing up and fell over in spectualar style which all the group talked about for the rest of the night. After this we then still had to get into cars and drive to Nazca, a long day and a lot of driving, we were all divided into fours and thrown into old american cars for the last couple of hours of our journey. Tomorrow a plane ride to see the famous Nazca Lines. More thumbnails ...
