San Pedro La Laguna in two different towns it has a little village right next to the lake were all the foreigners live the locals call it Gringo town. Then there is the real city on the hill where most of the locals live.
I will be living in gringo town for 2 weeks it attracts dropout of society (I am not one yet) from all over the world because of the cheap cost of living you can rent furnished a 2 bedroom house with everything included for $75 a month you can get a good meal here at a expensive gringo restaurant for less then $3 and that includes a drink and tip or you can go up the hill to a local place for about $1.
Gringo town is weird the streets are pedestrian only they are not big enough for a car or even a motorcycle some of them are dirt they are called trials.
This is a beautiful place the lake is as large as Lake Geneva but it is surrounded by mountains and two big non active volcano's.
No one speaks Spanish here except the Spanish students the locals speak Mayan (but know Spanish) the tourists speak English.
