Fort Nelson is one of the larger towns in northern British Columbia - at one time it was mile "0" of the Alaka Hwy, later it was changed farther SE to Dawson Creek. It list a population of about 7,200 and have a hospital, ambulance service, optometric clinic, and a chiropractor - so way more than a lot of spots we've been through. The IGA was pretty nice too.

We had our mail sent and from the US they say 3-5 day delivery. When Ken went to the post office the lady there laughed and said it was more like 7 to 10 day delivery. So we are going on without out mail, the lady at the post office said she would forward it ahead to us if we picked out a new place - so we told her to ship it to Haines Junction which is just before the Alaskan boarder and about a week away from us. We hope it works.

Ken has been filling out paperwork (yes even on an extended vacation things come up that have to be taken care of), for privileges at the Alaskan Native Hospital. He hopes to do part time hours there. I I actually tried to apply for a job at the big hospital in town but had nothing but problems trying to do it online and I have decided that I can wait (I really kind of like this not working thing, although I know I have to go back).

We really did not do much in Fort Nelson, just kind of hung out near the camper and were lazy. We had internet service but I really can't say I used it that much. We have been checking out rentals in the Anchorage area.

Our next be landmark is Watson Lake in the Yukon. It is about 350 miles from here, we will stop on the way a couple places as it is supposed to be some of the prettiest driving along the highway (this screams mountains, cliffs, and downhill driving to me but I will try not to think about it ahead of time).

We do know that there is road construction ahead of us. We watched pretty much all afternoon as motorhomes pulled into the campground and went directly to the RV Wash area - they were covered with a lot of dirt (ours isn't the cleanest but doesn't look at bad as those ones). Ken talked to one guy who said it rained in all the construction just through dirt up on them and quite a few window chips reported also.

Not many pictures here, like I said just taking it easy, I think I will post the wildflowers I've seen so far - these are from the whole trip.

Peace and Love!

P.S. - we are now on pacific time so we are 3 hours behind Michigan
