'Twas sad to be leaving the desert!!! Think we fell in love with the cactus's (cacti). Heading north now and this was our first stop. Mojave is very close to Edward’s Air Force Base where the shuttle has landed a couple of times. Many planes flying overhead, Gord’s neck couldn’t quite do a 360 to see them and he certainly didn’t mind the noise. We drove by a huge "airplane boneyard" with 747’s galore and many other varieties of aircraft.

Lots of wind here and our tour book said 4500 wind turbines were along the hills. Wow. The wind was really making them work. Facing a 60 mph wind and hanging on for dear life was exciting. Chevron is a lot richer now.
