After the train, ferry, buses and more buses we landed in koh Samui and headed straight for grub(surprise surprise)! Our hotel definitely didn't fit the normal backpacker mould - it was fancy fancy with a class pool and the beach a mere stone's throw away. This place had a typical holiday resort vibe to it but was really good. We basically lived it up, eating, drinking and relaxing. We also found ourselves a wee Irish pub, Tropical Murphy's so got good home style food and saw a bit of the football:) The highlight of our stay and I'd say of our whole trip in Thailand was our day trip to Ko Tao and Koh Nang Yuan (the first is a wee island and the 2nd is 3 islands linked by one long beach) People who have been to Thailand always rave about the beaches and now i know why... the water is soooooooooo clear, almost greeny coloured and the sand is near white! But the best bit was we went SNORKELLING!!!!!!! Yes MM who ain't exactly a water lover was swimming away with loads of different types of fishies!!! Think Finding Nemo without the turtles :) It was brilliant and was right beside the beach, so shallow. We saw lots of coral too - weird looking but poor Gerry got bit by 3 fish. Only little nips ( I think they thought his hairy legs were food). He also got sunburnt but still loved the snorkelling. The only down side was the boat to the islands. It was a speed boat that continuously jumped you right out of your seat and soaked you galore (not exactly a pleasant experience but so worth it)!

Love to hate reading your posts. Love reading all the banter you're havin and hate that I'm sittin in work readin all about it. Sounds like totally class craic and can't wait to do something like that myself.
Good to hear all the banter anyway, keep the post comin cause the more I read the quicker I want to get outa here and start travellin!!!!
