So we poddled along from Canterbury to Dover this morning. We caught the 1230 ferry and sat for 3 hours whilst it fought its way through the weather in the English Channel. The food on board DFDS is not to be recommended.
Having arrived and got offloaded very rapidly, we drove a very short distance down the coast to a camp site which is open all year.
Used the ACSI card to get a pitch, 2 showers and electric fo 14 euros.
Made our way to the allotted pitch. Drove on and then couldn't find the electric point! Super bloke from 2 pitches up, showed us where the electric point was and suggested that we abandon the pich for one closer to the power. Which we did of course!
Having squelched through the mud to get hooked up, we gladly took up our neighbours offer of a cup of tea.
They had been fulltiming, mostly in Spain for years. And they gave us some very useful tips. We will get a small electric kettle and a low power fan heater.
And so to food and bed - listening to the persistent rain.
Exhausted but having sooo much fun.
