Wednesday 12th June
Breakfast is at the delightful Weisen bakery. Then I buy a little folding cooking stove, similar to those belonging to my Israeli friends. It's made by Primus and called the Multi-fuel. Runs on all known types of fuel, even diesel. I think coal is the only type of fuel it cannot ignite and continue running on. I begin by hooking it up to a small cylinder of propane gas which is much cleaner. I can see how useful this device will be and it becomes one of my most treasured items.
Subhash and Tanvi move into my room to wait until their bus leaves town this evening. The 7pm service south to the Indian border. The Rabbi has fixed their Indian visas. They are reluctantly preparing for their journey ; 20 plus 3 plus 16 hours from here into the centre of New Delhi. By bus. Who would envy them ? That's what it takes to be a dedicated backpacker and earn the distinction and respect that it merits. I wish them a fond farewell and they leave. Mine is a lazy evening watching another movie. My toiletry requirements have today demanded the extinction of a further two entire toilet rolls . I wonder whether the Rabbi can help me ?
Next ; A brotherly visit
