with a boat dock and view over the bay.
My friend had to work a lot, but I filled my days with hanging out on the veranda (when it wasnīt rainy) and going skateboarding. I felt like Joey in Dawsonīs Creek, the only thing missing was a Dawson, climbing up the ladder to my window. On one day, my friend showed me her hometown, which is a beautiful, laid back place with cobblestone in some streets
, an incredible marketplace, where you can find jewelry, cloth, handmade lotions and parfums and handbound baskets, where the town is famous for
. You can linger along the Promenade ,which passes along a great Pinapple Fountain
and eat in one of the divers restaurants spread over the town. I realle liked Charleston for his flair and the beautiful Mansions along the water
. My perfect day full of highlights started with a ride to Folly Beach with a surfboard on the roof and the excitement of going surfing again after 2 month. Folly Beach is south of Charleston and is a small beachtown, that reminds me bit of the Northshore of Hawaii, with small houses, restaurants, Souvenir- and Surfshops. We brought my friendīs 9īsurfboard and the waves looked like fun. I felt so good being out in the water again, although my surf sucked, I really enjoyed it
. Later on, we were hanging out on the beach, my friend with her hand-digged-baby-belly-hole (she is pregnant), which looked quite cute. In the evening waited another highlight for us: We had tickets for a concert of The Wailors.
It was great, they played a lot of the old Bob Marley songs from the Legend Album, joints were passed by and we were dancing the whole time, it couldnīt have gone better.
The last days I was getting ready for my big trip to Mexico. At my last evening the father gave us a ride on his old navy boat
, which is quite of noisy, but we had fun cruising in the bay and along the restauant and Barstrip right on the water
. The next day, early in the morning, with mixed feelings of excitement, concerns īcause of the Swine flu and ready for new adventures, I packed my stuff, sayed goodbye to my friend and her family and was leaving my last stop in USA towards Cancun, Mexico.
My last stop in the USA was in Charleston, where I was visiting another friend of Costa Rica. Luckily I got a ride from Tampa close to Charleston with my firendīs brother and his wife as they were heading to Washington. It worked out pretty well, as I was wracking my brain how to get there, because the bus would have taken 15 hrs with an overnight stay at the trainstation, which is not that recommendable as they are always in some creepy ghettos or I could have spent $300 on a flight. So my friend got the idea, that her brother could drop me off on a gasstation close to the highway and my other friend would pick me up there. It was pretty easy and after a 9 hrs ride I finally arrived in Charleston. They have a beautiful house right on a creek
