Where I stayed

Flag of Mexico  ,
Saturday, October 22, 2005

I thought its time to move further south and so I went to Tijuana (Mexico border City) and booked a flight to Mexico City. Six hours later I arrived, took to metro to Zocalo station and the first thing I saw when I came out of the station was the Catedral Metropolitana (the biggest in Latin America), the huge plaza de la constitution and the biggest flag I have ever seen. No people around, 11pm, but the hostel was not to far away and a Mexican family pointed me in the right direction.

The Hostel Moneda is in the old town center and really good, the City is amazing. Very crowded, markets everywhere and a lot of very old buildings. Itīs a good contrast to my time in the states. Very different.

The national Museum of Anthropology is fascinating (I spend 5h in the museum which is the second biggest after the one in Kairo) and the lost City of Teotihuacan (second highest pyramids after Egyp, 65m) is a must to see.

Thanks to Geraldo (the Barkeeper in the Hostel) we had a few really good nights out in the City. The best night was when he invited 10 people from the Hostel to a private Mexican house party. A lot of girls, drinking games, dancing, talking, fun...but the fun stops if you talk to a Mexican guys girlfriend...I had my experience :-)

My next destination is Costa Rica and I need to book my flight now....
