On Friday the 15th of June we all had another day off because of all the rain that fell the night before. It was a very dull day. I went to the library to read about Thailand and to use the Internet.
After this I went to the supermarket and on the way I met Geaton and his friend from Belgium coming out of the bottle shop. They had 2 bottles of Vodka in there hand. I guess someone will be drunk tonight. That night most of the hostel went to the pub. It was a very good night. I mostly talked to Eva (German girl) and her boy friend who was from Chilie. I also talked to a Japanese man called Ketia and a wonderful Japanese girl called Yuko.
On Saturday I was too hung over to go to work. I did get out of bed but I could not go to work. Allot of people did the same. :-) I bought a newspaper and red it for the day. There was an article about Laos in it, which was very interesting to me. It basically said if you go to Laos you have to go to Luang Prabang, which is a beautiful city in the north of the country. There was another article about how aboriginal children are being abused by white people in Australia. Also that there was a civil war in the Gaza strip. At this moment I realized I have no idea what is really going on in the world. In the afternoon I booked my seat on the OZ bus for next Saturday as it was time to leave Bowen. I have also realised I have traveled 2,211km from Sydney.
Sunday the 17th of June was a work day and we worked until 5. Life was becoming a routine again and I did not like that.
On Monday we only worked from 7-10am since once again because of the rain. When I got home I went to the Internet cafe and later went to the Grandview for a few Bundaberg rum's. While there I met a man who was on the run from his wife, whose parent's were Dutch.
I thought wouldn't that make her Dutch, no she was from Australia. Later Arie (Dutchman) joined me for a drink. We went to the Irish pub because we had some mock money to spend here. We shared a pizza on the way home.
Tuesday the 19th of June we worked from 7-3pm. Rain Rain Rain. I was told by one of the farmers that this is the most rain they have had in Bowen in 30 years... And of course I had to be there. :-) On Wednesday the 20th we worked until 4:30pm. During the day I asked the farmer for Friday off, since it was my last full day in Bowen. He agreed. :-)
