My Journey started by leaving Eindhoven train station at around 3pm on March 27th. My first flight flew from Amsterdam to London Heathrow with BA. I then waited two hours for my flight to Singapore, that flight was about 13 hours long,, nice,, but luckily I drank two small bottles of wine and slept most of that journey.
At any stage during the journey you can view a map of where you are flying over in the world in a small screen in front of you,, it is also your own personal screen for watching TV or movies. I remember flying over Turkey and thinking that this is the furthest east I have ever been. Now my journey truly began, I was very excited. :-) I arrived early in Singapore airport, but the local time was 6pm. The view as we flew into Singapore airport was astonishing, lushes green golf courses and beautiful palm trees, it looked so inviting. I had to wait about 2 hours in Singapore, but that was ok,, there was free internet access in the airport and I had a lovely cup of coffee, luckily I had some English money. We left Singapore at 7:45pm for the last leg of my journey, this was 7 hours long, but it felt much longer since it was really my day time, but it was dark out side. Time was beginning to feel a little strange. I arrived in Sydney at 5:20am, with a nice smooth landing by BA. I automatically felt very warm and wondering was it me or was it very hot outside, maybe a bit of both. I had to declare some chocolates and Irish tea bags for the people I was staying with.
Going through customs was very easy, which was surprising since I only had a print out of my visa number and even then he did not ask for it. I remember him asking me what was I going to be doing in Australia and I said mostly touring and he said you have a working holiday visa and I replied yes,, he let me go through and advised me to go to another desk to get a print of my visa put into my passport,, which I gladly did,,, and that was it,, I collected my bag and went through the exit doors of the airport............. I was in Australia.....well Sydney at least. And yes it was very warm outside. The person I was staying with collected me and brought me to his home in Wattle Grove near Liverpool. No not England....
