Show trip route
This part of our journey is nearly all about getting across the country as (legally) fast as we can, but there is still plenty to see and hear along the way.
Local radio has provided our 'entertainment' for the last day or two. We have finally escaped the Country & Western belt of America where you had to search hard to find anything else to listen to. Now we are back to random music (every place we have heard music playing has involved the strangest sequence of genres, artists and songs - it's like the whole of the country has its music set to 'shuffle').
In between the music is a variety of upbeat inane chatter about the latest upcoming tractor meet or other similar local event. And in between all of that are the adverts.
Ads are everywhere. The highways are flooded with hoardings, TV programs are shredded by adverts - even between the last scene of a sitcom and then the credits.
And the highways transport all of the crap that they so desperately want us to buy. Lorries, sorry - trucks carry just about everything across the continent. Even other trucks.
