Rio gets a lot of hype as a city.  After 10 days I can see why.

It was hard to find the balance between doing all of the standard touristy things while still managing to get out and be day to day, but I sort of managed to do it.

I stayed at a hostel that organized a tour almost every day, which seemed great at first but in hindsight was probably not.  After doing a few tours, I talked to people who had either just gone out and done things on their own, or hired independant tour companies instead.  They saved a lot of money, so if you're ever in Rio, go for that.

That's really the only complaint I have though, the rest was awesome.  Rio is a city where something is always going on, and it's easy to get sucked in.

More to come, but here are some pictures for now.
