On Monday March 24, 2008 the unheard of happened. I drove Mom and Ron into Coxen Hole to get a Honduran Marriage License. Not wanting to spoil their optimistic mood, I said nothing, but couldn't help think to myself...There is noooo way it will go smooth enough for them to get married tomorrow.

Imagine my surprise when; the traffic was light, I found a place to park and not only was there no line-up at the municipal office, they found someone to help them that spoke English! Okay...but now the paperwork. Here they come, I'm ready to console is no problem. A quick stop at the clinic, some photocopies and back to the municipal office to set the date and I will be ready to console problem, 4pm, tomorrow on the beach at Sundancer (where Dave and I live), Sandy Bay.

Oh my gosh...get a cake, call friends, ask Ron and Carleen to sing, arrange for a reception, borrow an iron and ironing board from Skippy.

March 25, the Wedding Day. A storm has been threatening...the way everything else has gone so far...I am not worried anymore. Sure enough, the sky's clear, the sun is bright and a gentle breeze is blowing. The only typical Roatan event is that the power went out just before we head to the beach. (poor Dave had to go for a swim in the pool instead of a shower). I escort Mom down the sand path to meet her groom. The ceremony is lovely with Samona officiating, while Mom and Ron exchange vows they have written. From there we go to Rick's Blue Parrot for a fun filled reception. After the reception Dave and I drive the newlyweds to Captain Ron's Hideway for a one night honeymoon in their own private, beach front two bedroom suite. Thank you for the very generous gift Captain Ron and Carol.

Mom and Ron may your life together go as smoothly as your special day on the Island of Roatan...after pulling this off...the rest will be a cinch!
