Woke up on 3rd to find that some of my stuff had been stolen off our Veranda (hoodie which was only out there cos it stank - haven't even used it!, boardshorts and man bag which were both wet). A guy called Mark who lives next door also had some boardshorts stolen. Spent the morning dealing with hotel staff who didn't care and then got the police round. A bit shocked when 8 uniformed officers and 1 shirt walked in! ended up at the police station to file the report and learnt Indonesian - the police loved it and bought us tea, coffee and cigarettes for Mark.

4th - chartered a boat with Mark and 2 German girls (Maren and Miriam) to go to Rinca island where you can see more Komodo dragons than you can on Komodo. Also rented fins for snorkelling on the way back. Boat broke on the way there and we were picked up by another boat which was just being mended on the way out to get us! eventually got to Komodo and did 2 hour hike which was amazing - got within around 2m of massive Komodo Dragons which were around 3m long. Also saw lots of water buffalo. On the way back the boat broke down again and we didn't end up getting to go snorkelling at all as me and Mark had to help fix it and we only got back just before dark. spent a while arguing about price.... Food and drinks in the evening with the 3 M's.

5th - planned for a relaxing day but Mark saw a guy wearing his boardshorts and had a fight with him. The guy ran away which lead to massive police manhunt (excessive for a couple of bits of clothing?!?) and another stop at the police station. Me and Mark ended up searching the guys room and got my bag back. After a bit of "Interrogation" (read a beating) by the police the guy claims his friend has got my other stuff and that he's legged it to the next island.

6th - went out on a dive boat. Gemma did 3 dives and I did 3 snorkelling trips! Probably the best snorkelling yet at the first site - Gemma saw loads of sharks and we saw Giant Trewalies (not sure how it's spelt). I also saw a spotted eagle ray and some turtles. All in all a good day. fly back to Bali tomorrow.
