Buenos dias,
Went to the Museo National de Bellas Artes today which is a fine arts museum in Recoleta. They have your basic Cezanne, Picasso, Monet, Manet, Renoir, etc. and some Argentine artists. It was also free! Something funny happene on the way there. Some weirdo guy with a black robe on and a white painted face jumped out and scared me and this girl. He reminded me of that damn bush guy in SF at Fishermans Warf. Anyway, the girl and I both screamed at the top of our lungs (thank god it wasn´t just me) and then started dying laughing. I realized it was the first belly laugh I´d had since I got here and the best, albeit brief, bonding moment I´ve had with a Portena (BA person) since I arrived. Laughter is another universal thing...
I was thinking of how yesterday I said these guys are like the English - I actually think they´re nicer. Reserved, but sweet. The English are more bitter. These people also love their dogs, which I like...They´ve got really good looking ones like in SF and often times they walk off leash next to their owners even on busy sidewalks. There are also a lot of cats that hang out in public places. These cats are probably feral but are relaxed and healthy looking...
I got yet another bum bottle of wine that I am going to have to pour out. Gross! It had a weird pepper taste. Higher price doesn´t equal quality, it seems to be a crap shoot in the local market.
Weather continues to be perfect and to allow me to wear exactly what I would back home.
Off for now....
Cao bellas.

Glad you're enjoying yourself, Irem
I've been waiting for an email or call and then I remembered your blog, so I just got myself caught up. The guy jumping out at you made me laugh out loud. Also glad the city is full of dogs (Mewi, I sent dem dere to watch over yew) as I know you are fluent in the international language of ....canine. Among other international languages.....
you're bringing me back to BA!
I love your stories! Glad you're meeting canines and live folks. Have you met any travel buddies yet? BTW are you checking your personal or work email too? Bummer re the wine. Have you tried Googling some of the labels? Try Achaval Ferrer and Felino Vina Cobos. Luv, K
