Yo all!
I´ve arrived in the great city of Buenos Aires after 24 hours of travel and no sleep. This may seem disjointed and I can´t promise any spelling or grammar accuracy. I´ll just give you a stream of thoughts....Sat next to a sweet older man on the plane who talked non stop of the countries history and gave me about 3000 tips. He reminded me a bit of Dad when he spoke nervously of his daughters´ lives. It was SO cool flying over the Carribean at night - water, water, water and darkness and then all of a sudden Central America - Panama City. It looked just the way the maps promise- a thin curved strip of lights in the dark. It was beautiful. There were huge far away lightning storms that lit up the sky and a beautiful full moon.
The people have been great so far. I felt like a tool in the cafe trying to order my cafe con leche. Numbers mess me up so I have a hard time understanding the cost of things. They have to write it for me and I kind of feel dumb. But it feels good to try at least....
There are dogs in the cafe as I speak. They are so cute- kind of the pitbull variety, hanging out on the floor while their owners type. Earlier I was looking at a black lab while I was in the cafe drinking that cafe con leche. He was just doing regular lab stuff and I took comfort in the universal language of animals.
The internet cafe is full with all kinds of people - I hear Americans here and there...
OK - I´m off to the store to find something to eat and see if they don´t have some good vino I can bring home and drink out on my balcony.
Buenos tardes,
M
PS - I´ll try to get photos up at some stage but I can´t deal with the camera today...maybe after some good zzzz´s.
