Our final destination in New Zealand was Christchurch which thankfully we both really liked. We stayed in a great hostel which was on a quiet leafy side street but only minutes walk into the city centre. We found some great second hand books shops and even managed to sell some of our previous reads! The city was full of eccentrics including a preaching wizards and homelsess chess genius'!
We had to say goodbye to our beloved car after having to clean it for the first time in a month, the old girl served us well! Ever the cheapskates we chose to spend the night in the airport to catch our early morning flight rather than pay for a hostel and a taxi! We thought it was gonna be brilliant as we settled on the huge squidgy cicular sofas in departures only to be told at 9pm that departures closes overnight so we'd have to wait in arrivals which was freezing and only had hardbacked chairs, D'oh!
Goodbye New Zealand, we loved you and had the most amazing month!
