If you're ever in Palmerston North we can tell you a really good hostel NOT to go to! Unless you miss being in the army. Pepper Tree Hostel was run by a lady with a passion for rules and an unhealthy obsession with her laminating machine! A brief example include:
- No alchol in the hostel without the managers approval
- No reading on the toilet during peak hours!
- No cooking after 9pm or before 8am
- Water Bottles MUST be filled using the 'specail silver jug'
There was also a telephone which was wrapped in black tape (much like a straight-jacket) so that no outgoing calls could be made using it!!
After 1 night we could't take the pace of the party atmosphere and got the hell outta there!
