Sun 10th Feb/Mon 11th Feb

Arrived in Auckland after a very sleepless night spent on the sofa's at Fiji Airport constantly being nibbled at (including Sams;s face and eyelid!!) by Mozzies! We picked up our hire car with no problems, except that it's a geek-mobile and an automatic, not a patch on our last Suzuki Swift! But we're beginning to love her now!

We drove to Raglan which is on the West Coast, about 2 hours from Auckland. It's a really small surfery town that reminded us of Santa Cruz. We stayed in a purpose built hostel right on the water which was really cool and run by surfer-bums! All of the rooms opened onto a courtyard constantly patrolled by the hostel cat Meg, who was really cute. We stayed there 2 nights and spent most of the time chilling out.
