This country gets more and more beautiful the furher south you get, and Melacca is just something else entirely. There is a phenomenal amount of culture there, it has been owned by the britsh, the dutch, the french and the portuguese! We really didn't have long enough here at all, but in the one day we managed to fit in a boat tour that showed you the sites - alot of the film Entrapment was filmed here - and we saw some massive lizards, at least 3 foot long! The day before we go here the 7 Sultans of Malaysia had been visiting, and so the whole place was decorated beautifully! For dinner we went to a traditional satay restaurant-they have big pots of boiling peanut and chilli sauce that you dip skewers of stuff into-i say stuff because they don't tell you what is on any of the skewers, and so you have to make your own mind up! It was like fondue but messier-guess who was wearing a white skirt! And before we knew it we were off again - this time over the border to Singapore!
