Hi all,

We've just completed our second day of diving, but this time we travelled out to sea and an island called Racha Noi. All in all, we had a total of 3 dives, and pretty much completed out PADI training (Lucy only needs one more task to complete) for Scuba. Our open water qualification will be completed tomorrow.
Both of us dived down to only 7 metres, but managed to see a little of the reef and some of the aquatic life there. I had a third dive (Lucy got too tired after her second), and spent a lot of time chasing puffer fish with Martin, our instructor and floating above some really beautiful coral.

This is going to be a rather short entry as it's 11:10pm and we've got to get a decent night's sleep before our final PADI diving at Phuket (another 8:30am start) Map of Phuket diving sites

. hopefully the following day will involve a lie in, as it seems that pretty much all our mornings so far have been early ones (and we could both do with beauty sleep :)

The number of older middle-aged Farang (tourists) and young Thai women here is a bit of an eye opener. I think we spotted at least 12 pairs this evening alone. Nobody's bothered about it though, and it was even explained to me that young women usually go out with much older men in Thailand (few would go out with men in their 60+'s, unless they're after something other than a relationship).

Anyway, off for a final drink and then bed!!

Bhat I thought you were in Landon
Hi Mike! Hi Lucy!

Didn't realise you were both out in Thailand - I think you have chosen the perfect timing as it has been freezing in London!

If you are up for drinking games after diving, there is one we used to do back home which involves pouring alcohol down your snorkel and goggles (you can't escape - you will have to down whatever is poured down the snorkel - try it!!).

Keep the posts on, and have a fab time out there, I guess you will be having spicy Pad Thai instead of Turkey for Christmas this year, which will be a bit of a change!! We'll catch up when you get back and I expect lots of stories and photos ok!! Like your one so far about the ping pong balls!!

Love ya.

Joseph
