CHRISTMAS EVE
When i woke up from my little doze life was happening around us. Food stalls were being set out, people were jogging or walking around the port. The waiting room was opened and i had the privilidge of paying to use the toilet - niiice! DK did eventually wake up. We met up with Su again - she had got a later bus than us and stopped off at the market in Rach Gia to get some food. She gave us some of this potatoe thing which DK liked but i didnt. we got on the ferry after what felt like a lifetime, the journey was pretty rough but i ate the provided crackers, closed my eyes and had happy thoughts :)
Not everyone on the boat seemed to be able to do that - sickness galore!
Finally finally set foot on PHU QUOC ISLAND!
Its taken us 29 hours Im knackered beyond belief, I hope its worth it!!!
Ha 29 hours but only $26 PP-HCMC $12 HCMC-Rach Gia $20 Rach Gia-Phu Quoc oh n $10 Scooters to the ferry - $68 (total) wow...

Straight away though i have decided we are gonna try and get a flight back - i really do not want to do that journey again :)
I know i know what a wuss...

And now the fun begins because we have to try and find a room!
Off the ferry we were met by the usual touts who all had rooms and all had good price - not bothered with haggling we just got in a car with a tout and 2 other people who got off the ferry with us and went round hotels 1. finding ones that had rooms and then 2 looking at the rooms.
One of the ones we looked at was $31 per night and it was nice but only available for 2 nights - DK wanted to take it but my reasoning was that as we wanted to stay for 4 or 5 nights we would than have to find another hotel and at this stage it really was the last thing that i felt like doing.
We had a few knock backs and then came to the XUAN THU, the owner showed us a few rooms and of on with course DK wanted the one with the balcony :)  Its at the top of the hotel so we can see the sea and its looks so nice so cant wait to go for a walk to the beach. So we agreed on a price $8 a night!!! The shower and the air con works theres sky tv and the bedding is clean! Thatll do for us donkey! Then the shower failed and the light broke so we thought well for $8 what do you expect but someone came and fixed the shower and the light so all good again.
After handing in our passports and filling in the necessar forms we went for a walk to get something to eat. We went to MAYS. I had beef noodles and veg DK had seafood rice - i was brave and tried the squid - it was really nice, i might be braver and eat some more at some point. We had a couple of bottles of beer as well (i know me drinking in thr afternoon :) ) well it is Christmas Eve so why not ha ha ha...
Followed our noses and went to the beach, sat out on a jetty for a while which was nice then onto a beach bar for another drink. It was a great way to spend Christmas Eve! We both agreed at this point that we really should go and sleep so we walked back to the hotel stopping on the way for some snacks and water. We dropped off our laundry with reception and i read for a bit. DK fell asleep pretty much straight away. 6pm we are wusses. I woke up again about 11 - text everyone happy christmas and went back to sleep...
