hi all
still alive
sorry for lack of updates. was sitting on a beach in Olympos southern turkey
for a few days then came to syria for a week where the internet
is banned in case freedom of information brings down the President Assad or
something. Or maybe it's the nudie stuff. I don't know about that.
Anyway,
I will update with a bit more info when i get hold of my journal, as I kept
some notes on where i've been etc can't really remember right now.
anyway, have spent a good week in Syria which was
"very cheap, very good price you like mister". Aleppo, Krac De Chevaliers, Palmyra (best ruins yet and i've seen a few), Damascus which was a bit too big but had impressive mosques.
Into Jordan but it is so expensive I'm bolting through it and currently in
Wadi Musa to visit city of Petra (carved city at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade).
Was sadly unable to visit Israel or Lebanon. Israel due to the fact there's a bit
of a disagreement going on there about someone backgarden... I was reasonably up for it
until while visiting syria we saw bus loads of tropps moving east to the borders, and the locals where
saying Iraq was moving troops close to syria in anticipation of it going off. Lebanon was
out because its too expensive and I'll have to come back in future to see Israel anyway and will see it at the same time.
