My first impressions of Malmo was that it appears much the same as Copenhagen. Their tradition, history, appearance and general lifestyle was similar to what I have been seeing in Copenhagen.
Walking around the endless avenues of shops, restaurants and parks was a good way to spend the day.
There is a super large cemetery that seems to crop up around most of the big corners, this couples as generous green parklands in this city that is the gateway to Sweden (other than by plane).
English here is not quite as common as back in Copenhagen. Generally in Copenhagen most people speak rather good english (something they all learn in school)
I returned to Copenhagen in the evening to spend an hour or two in the centre. The city is a little different at night and much colder too! But by no means did there appear to be much less people around, it was in fact quite busy.
Friday was a pretty lazy day, hanging around the house before heading out with Michael for dinner in town in what was not only Friday the 13th but Denmark's 'Culture Night'.
Tonight we rode the bikes into town. Why not, 500,000 other people did. This allowed me the opportunity to experience this maze of bike lanes and how indeed it all merges with other traffic and pedestrians. I was impressed with the integration. I am so impressed with this set up.
Culture Night is a large event here held on the 2nd Friday in October and there was literally thousands of people in town. Many appeared to be walking around looking at the endless display of artists displaying their talents. I must admit some were a little bit of a worry or indeed a bit ordinary but in the whole it was good to see such a range of talent on display. The whole thing was for free.
All of the restaurants were overflowing. We had to hunt around a bit before settling on some Indian food. Lucky we rode in because riding home gave us the opportunity to burn off all of the fat from the excessive usage in the Indian restaurant.
Like I need extra fat!
Adios mis amigos.
PS: Tomorrow is Michaels birthday.
