Two days into our trip, and we have crossed the Mississippi River.  This is the first time the kids have been this far west.  Their reaction to the Mississippi was, "It's not very big!"  Oh well, maybe when we stop in St. Louis on the way home, and take a riverboat tour, they will be more impressed.
As we were crossing over the river, we entered Arkansas.  Although mostly flat, the highway here was the worse we have traveld so far.  Ugh!  I felt like the RV was going to break apart at some points!
We decided not to stop anywhere in Arkansas and go straight to Oklahoma. So, it was a long ride today, about seven hours.
We have found that once the temperature outside reaches into the 90's the AC has a hard time keeping up.  Around 12:00, I was getting hot and cranky.  Yes, I was the one cranky, not the kids! They have been entertaining themselves very well so far.  Sammi has read four books since we left and Katie is on her fifth.  Kyle has only read one, but he fills up some of his time playing Xbox and helping daddy navigate.

We finally reached Oklahoma and our campsite mid-afternoon.  This is definitely the nicest place we have stayed so far. The campsites are bigger and there are trees for shade.  Each site even has a wooden swing.  We are within walking distance to Lake Eufaula, so we went down to see it. Sophie, who normally hates to be wet, was so hot that she jumped right in and rolled around.  It was funny to see our prissy teacup poodle covered in mud, but she loved it!  Chanel was right behind her.
Of course, we made a trip to the pool to cool off and added two more stickers to the map.  Then we headed to the Chuck Wagon Cafe here at the campground and enjoyed some Oklahoma cooking.  It was actually very good, and I loved getting out of cooking two nights in a row!
We are leaving early in the morning to try to get a jump start on the heat and avoid mama getting cranky again. We are headed to Amarillo, Texas.  Maybe I'll get lucky and find a good Tex-Mex restaurant and get out of cooking again!

No, I did not see the hospital. How was Hot Springs? I almost wanted to go down there, but not sure if it was worth it.
