Just pottered around the villa all day. Did a lot of reading. Ches did some supermarket shopping in the village, and around 7.00 pm we strolled over the hill to Villago. It is the neighbouring village. No matter where we drove in the district, every sign we saw for Villago said 2 km. We figure they mad a dozen signs all with the same distance on them, and just sent someone out to plant them at random. Most of the vllages off the main road from Vincenza to Este (40 km south), of which Barbarano is one, have sister towns on the main road. So there is Barbarano Vicentino (where we were), and 4km away on the main road, Ponte di Barbarano. Mossano and Ponti di Mossano. Nanto and Ponti di Nanto.
Villago doesn't fit into the scheme of things. All we found was a village spread around the little valley, one shop which was closed and a church. The main intersection had a flower bed in the middle, and a local houswife had run the hose across the road to water the flowers. Beyond that, no activity at all. We assume they share in the life of Barbarano.
