We bid farewell to the Rockies early in the morning and headed south to Lake Country. Around the Lakes in southern BC in areas such as Kelowna, it gets extremely hot in Summer and very cold in Winter. We spent much of the day in the car, with a few stops, including to a swing bridge with a waterfall on the side of the road. It was a very beautiful and scenic drive. We arrived in Kelowna in the afternoon and checked out the scorching city and its lake front before heading back to the Hotel for a quick rest before heading to my Dad's Uncle's place for dinner. It was nice to catch up with Dad's Uncle and his wife in Kelowna, whom my Mum had never met and whom my Dad had not seen in over 30 years. That's the great thing about family I guess, no matter the time that passes, the door is always open.
