The Start (Journey to Denmark)

The trip started a mere 20 minutes late - not bad for a 3 month trip! Unfortunately, less than a minute down the road we discovered that not everything was secured sufficiently with the fire extinguisher making a valiant leap for freedom. Lacking the ability to bounce it smashed the glass cooker hobs cover making an impressive noise and mess. A (pre-planned) pit stop 2 hours later at mum's allowed the glass to be cleared up.

Ferry to Denmark

Fed, and armed with more tea towels, we continued onto Harwich. Arriving an hour before departure we are car number 10 in the queue. Very smooth setup - electronic booking the way it should be done. At the start of the queue, show passports, receive cabin door passes and a nice sticker for the car to indicate we have upgraded. This turns out to be very helpful as we are allowed to bypass the next queue and are waved straight through.

Tor's Ferry

Upgrading to a more expensive cabin resulted in free breakfast and a free mini-bar in the room! En-suite shower was the best for the next week. Upgrade also allowed us to have an exclusive cooked breakfast in a special section of the restaurant with no kids.

In Denmark, leaving the boat was equally smooth - cars in front start driving, we drive and we're on dry land in another country. Cursory examination of the passports and we're waved through.
