Anyway, now we are in Cape Town and after some sad goodbyes we jumped in a cab to meet my parents and a bit of luxury over Christmas. It was great to meet my parents after they had already had a week here and also great to be greeted with a big double bed and a great shower!
No hanging about, the next day we went to the beautiful vine yard in Stellenbosch called Morganhof and indulged in steak and red wine. We then then visited the the local museum before heading off to another vineyard called Fairview for a splash more red wine
The following day we had a short ferry ride to the historic Robin Island. It was a very surreal place and gave us a great idea of the how the apartheid was and how much the country has now changed. We then chilled at the V & A waterfront with a couple of beers in the sunshine.
Then off to the Cape of Good Hope which was stunning and we walked from the Cape Point over what i felt was death valley towards the Cape of Good Hope. This is a very spectacular untouched part of the world which and we were very surprised just how nice it was.
We didn't have a typical Christmas eve. George went up table mountain and i thought it best if i stayed at the bottom to make sure everything was OK down there! We then went for a walk up Lions head looking which took in all the amazing views of Cape Town. The walked finished by us walking down millionaire row with some of the biggest houses you could imagine.
So, Christmas day in a hot climate was weird but we still managed to have turkey with all the trimmings and put on a stone in a day thanks to my parents.
Off to Perth now for 4 days and I'm working on George to go to the WACA to watch some cricket. Wish me luck. Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year xx
