Where I stayed
Yass Anglican Church
Split into two groups because of the hills, which meant some of us could get a head of steam up on the longer and steeper climbs.
Very picturesque countryside, with wheat, canola, sheep and cattle farming. There were some lovely vistas at the top of a number of hills.
We had lunch out on the road in a valley with big hills around us – a great setting. Lucky Jim was the wearer of the white jersey today – cut a fine figure on his Trek bike through the hills and vales!
Arrived in Yass early in the afternoon – my legs told me I had a done some good hill work
We were then allocated to families from the Yass Anglican Church to have a shower and tea at their place.
Trevor Lawrence (Canberra), Marcus and I were allocated to a young couple with two young children. Jo and her two kids Joseph and Dominic picked us from the Anglican Church building where we will be sleeping and took us back to her place. Unfortunately her husband Cliff wouldn’t be able to join us for tea as he works in Canberra and commutes each day (about 50kms).
Jo provided a great meal and we were entertained by the two boys, who kept us busy.
After being delivered back to the Church, we had our nightly devotions and then off to bed. Spoke to both Veronica and Kathryn on the phone tonight – it was really great to hear from my loved ones.
