Did the 124kms at an average of 27.5km - courtesy of cross and tail winds.

Rained early in the morning, but cleared up when we set out from Burra. The cross winds made it difficult and a bit scary when it gusted - had to hang on the bike in the wet conditions.

The countryside changed from agricultural to pastoral and then back to agricultural as we entered the Riverland area. Waikerie is known for its tastie oranges.

After lunch we crossed the mighty Murray River - by ferry - and saw a number of river boats. Also the kids of Trevor and Rebecca Hamersley, who are travelling with us, enjoyed feeding the ducks.

Waikerie is a quite a nice town - Marcus and I enjoyed a nice coffee before tea at the pub.

Spoke to Veronica, daughter Kathryn and my Mum on the phone tonight - a real treat.
