An so it is, without the Crap Shack, waking up under crisp clean Egyptian cotton sheets, a down comforter, and one of 12 selections from the Conrad pillow menu, could not have been so fully comfortable as it was on this morning.
More delightful was the prospect of a full breakfast, and despite the forecast, the sun was out! Hampton Inn, the Conrad is not as is evidenced by their immense breakfast buffet and impeccable service
I lingered at breakfast enjoying a full complement of breakfast treats like fresh eggs, bacon, French toast, gourmet cheese, yoghurt and peculiar delicacies like the snakeskin fruit, a cross between a apple and a plum. Meanwhile the girls scoped out some deck chairs and camped out by the pool. We spent the day lounging, alternating between the massive pool and our deck chairs resting for a snack around 2pm.
By 4pm I was enjoying Tea Time, but the girls insisted on maximizing their tanning experience and met me for the cocktail hour upstairs before we had a meal at the “Loco Café” outside the compound, across the road. I enjoyed whatever I had and the staff was kind enough to share the local “Arak”, a spirit that smells much worse than it is.
