Americans don't do things by half especially when it comes to tradition, so I was really looking forward to Christmas here, and I wasn't disappointed.  All those Christmas movies we watch when we're kids gives us a certain pre-concieved notion of what Christmas in America looks like, and yeah, they're pretty much spot on.  The snow, the lights, everyone wishing you "Happy Holidays!" because they can't say Merry Christmas incase they offend someone... it was actually really cool. :)  The only problem was I had 3 families to spend Christmas with, and I had to somehow spend quality time with them all.  I ended up spending Christmas Eve with the Kushners, Christmas Day with the Paulys and New Years with the Seramurs.  I think this the best best I could've managed considering.  It's the same old problem- there's just not enough Gary to go around.

Christmas Eve was great criac.  We went down to Chicago for Christmas dinner with all the family, and it was made even better by the bottle of Bushmills in the kitchen. :)  Santa still managed to find me, even in Milwaukee, so that was a nice surprise.  He was kind enough to bring me a pair of gloves, which of course I desperately needed because I lost one of mine in New York, and you tend to need gloves when it's minus 20 degrees, especially if you're going skiing next week.

That afternoon I was invited round for Christmas dinner at the Paulys house.  For those of you who don't know the Paulys, just imagine the Flanders' from the Simpsons mixed with the Brady Bunch.  A more perfect family I have yet to see. Another excellent dinner followed by unwrapping presents and family games made this a truly special Christmas day.
